Counselling for Teens and Young People

KS Counselling offers in person, one-to-one therapy for young people which focuses on their particular strengths and challenges, aiming to provide support that works with their goals and values, helping them to move forward with greater confidence and resilience.

Good therapy should be collaborative, supportive and tailored to the individual.

BA (Hons) History

As a qualified counsellor with more than a decade of experience with children and young people in statutory, healthcare and educational settings, I have worked with issues that include anxiety, depression, panic attacks, identity, trauma, sexual abuse, neurodevelopmental disorders, and personality disorders. I work integratively, using elements of psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and creative therapies; my priority is to provide a space where a young person can talk openly about what has happened to them and what they hope will be different in their future. My aim is to understand their difficulties and help them to think about their strengths, in a way that feels contained, safe and helpful.

First Steps

I aim to respond to all enquiries within 48 hours, where possible, and provide an initial 30 minute telephone consultation free of charge, where we can think about what a young person is bringing to therapy and what systems are currently in place to support them.

Further training:

TESTIMONIALS

“There are not enough words to say how sincerely grateful we are to you for helping not only [our young person] but us as a family through the last few years. To see her smile again and find joy and excitement is just wonderful”

“I am so pleased and grateful that we found you at a time [our young person] really needed the help and support you provided. She has benefited hugely from your help and it is evident that she’s now able to approach life situations in a much calmer and mature way”

“Before this I wouldn’t talk to anyone.. it has been the best experience”

LOCATION

I work from a garden office in Farnham, with parking available outside. I aim to provide reasonable accommodations for young people with sensory sensitivities, which can be discussed during the initial consultation.

I charge £75 per session, to be paid on the day the session is due to take place. Each session runs for up to 60 minutes from the time agreed.
